I am a quantitative ecologist. I focus on tropical mountain systems to understand biodiversity patterns across spatial and temporal climatic gradients, using moths as a model group.

We combine field sampling with quantitative and molecular tools, including remote sensing and artificial intelligence. By integrating long-term field monitoring, radar-based methods, and machine learning, we explore how climate change, land use, and light pollution affect moth diversity, abundance, and movement.

Our work informs conservation efforts and contributes to broader questions about species adaptation and resilience in a rapidly changing world.

India’s insects: Disappearing in plain sight?

Haunted by the possibility of an insect decline, ecologists of Azim Premji University are doing their best to overturn India’s severe data deficiency problem.

No animals were harmed during the making of this website.

I, on the other hand, went through a lot of trouble putting everything together.
